The Legal Entity Identifier (LEI) is a 20-character, alphanumeric code that uniquely identifies legal entities participating in financial transactions. It is designed to enhance transparency in the global marketplace by connecting to key reference information that enables clear and unique identification of these entities. The LEI system is supported by the Global Legal Entity Identifier Foundation (GLEIF) and is governed by the Regulatory Oversight Committee (ROC). The LEI includes 'Level 1' data, which provides information about 'who is who'—the essential identification details such as the official name, registered address, country of formation, and relevant dates related to the LEI itself. Additionally, 'Level 2' data provides information about 'who owns whom'—the ownership and parent company information.
To become an LEILex Affiliate partners will complete the LEILex Affiliate application; sign LEILex Affiliate service agreement; on-board the own-brand partner Affiliate portal inclusive of all training and support; and participate in the LEILex Affiliate group activities world-wide.
